About Dutch Horti Hub

Why We Do What We Do

The Dutch horticulture sector is unique. Nowhere else in the world will you find such a distinctive greenhouse ecosystem where the government, private sector, and research seamlessly collaborate to enhance crop production as we do in the Netherlands.

With the knowledge that the Dutch have gained over the past 175 years and the entrepreneurial mindset of Dutch horticulturists, who were willing to take risks, explore new markets, and invest in advanced technologies, the Netherlands has become the global leader in greenhouse production and greenhouse technology.

The Dutch have always valued knowledge sharing and international collaboration. In the Netherlands, we view global food security as a challenge that we need to solve together. Sharing agricultural knowledge and horticulture technologies internationally is, therefore, key.

Dutch Horti Hub: connects, shares, spreads & inspires

The four fundamental pillars of Dutch Horti Hub are:

– CONNECTING people with the right Dutch horticulture and greenhouse resources;

– SHARING horticulture knowledge in an understandable way & promoting implementation of existing scientific knowledge;

– SPREADING the innovative spirit & passion of the Dutch horticulture sector with the world;

– INSPIRING more young people to work on food security and agriculture.

Currently, you might be exploring ways to integrate Dutch greenhouse technologies or seeking insights on enhancing your production effectively through Dutch greenhouse solutions.

Without being in the Netherlands or having a personal Dutch greenhouse advisor in the Netherlands, navigating through available online Dutch horticulture resources can be overwhelming.

With fragmented information and numerous solutions, identifying the best fit for your project is challenging. This often leads to inefficiencies, mis-connections, and missed opportunities in the early stages.

Dutch Horti Hub is established to share horticulture resources and knowledge for everyone and everywhere. In one place.

Spreading knowledge and Experiences

Dutch Horti Hub was founded in December 2023 because we believe in the power of the internet. To share new horticulture knowledge and to connect people from around the world with Dutch horticulture companies and organizations.

“Hub” in Dutch Horti Hub represents a central and dynamic space that not only connects various stakeholders but also serves as a hub for the exchange of horticulture knowledge, the promotion of Dutch horticulture, and the inspiration of young people to work on global food security.

We hope that you, like many before you, will find the resources you need on Dutchhortihub.nl.

About the founder of Dutch Horti Hub

Dutch Horti Hub was founded by Yasmin, who is passionate about communicating developments in plant sciences to a broader audience and connecting people from around the world. She graduated with distinction from Wageningen University & Research (WUR) in Plant Sciences and specializes in both sustainable crop production and controlled environment agriculture (CEA).

Drawing from her international agricultural experiences across three continents, extensive knowledge of plant production, and background in digital marketing, she facilitates the translation of knowledge to address real-life problems.

When she is not learning new things or advocating for more implementation of nature inclusive agriculture practices, she finds it important to inspire younger individuals to work on global food security.
